8-9/12: International Skimountaineering Youth Camp in Praxmar (AT)

Dear friends in skimountaineering!

We are happy to announce - for the 2nd year - a program for our young athletes in competition- ski mountaineering: the International Skimountaineering Youth Camp in Praxmar/Tyrol/Austria on 8./9.12.2007.

Following a idea from Katarina Belikova and Zuzka Rychlikova (SVK) and Stefan Winter (GER) the Austrian Skimountaineering Organization For Competitions ASKIMO provides a platform for communication and learning for middle-european skimountaineering countries. On two days young athletes and accompaning people will be able to practice race behavior - just before the beginning season!

A relay race (participants put together by drawing lots!), a single race, a skitour with mountain guides, theoretical lessons and films….all that is packed within these two days!

Not only the race situation itself, but also details about technic, material, social behaviour and fun will be the substance of these two days in Austria. This is made possible by our Partners DYNAFIT and PIEPS, which not only provide the financial support for the logistics behind the event, but also send professional people for support: DYNAFIT sends a few young mountain guides and also Nicolas Bonnet (22), who just came back from his ski- expedition to Manaslu (8.163 m). PIEPS sends his specialists in avalanche science to give their knowledge tot he athletes.
Also the city of Innsbruck, the Newspaper „Tiroler Tageszeitung“ and the „Alpengasthof Praxmar“ are supporting this event.

Skimountaineering is adventure and fun – this is the message to the young sportsmen of middle europe!

The Camp is especially ment for Athletes from Austria, Germany, Italia and Slovakia. For this four nations, we can give very special coinditions for accommodation. But: every other nation is also invited to oversend young athletes, sure. Please accept: At least 2 persons per team/nation must have parental authority. If female athletes participate, at least one female person with parental authority has to be part of the team.

Timeschedule: Saturday 8.12.2007 to Sunday 9.12.2007

Location: the camp is situated in Praxmar, a small village 15 km south from Innsbruck/Tyrol/Austria

Costs: Accommodation with breakfast in Praxmar from 15. - 17.12.06 is free for 10 persons including accompaning persons from AUT, GER, ITA, SVK. Travel costs, dinner and extra expenses has to be paid. Dinner prices from EUR 6,-- to EUR 12,--, accommodation incl. breakfast app. EUR 35,--. No starting fee has to be paid!
